The emergence of more stringent state and federal air quality programs requires increasingly sensitive analytical instruments, and Alpha’s state-of-the-art air laboratory has kept pace with technology and out-paced the competition. Our advanced technologies for analysis of volatile and semivolatile organic compounds include mass spectrometers capable of simultaneously operating in full scan and Selected Ion Monitoring (SIM) modes, and fused-silica-lined (FSL) Summa canisters which eliminate false negative results due to "active sites" that occurred in earlier Summa canisters.

Alpha is one of the few laboratories that supports vapor intrusion testing, an important new concern for real estate developers and property owners.
